Safety in the Community

We have, over the last few weeks, had a number of calls from parents/carers regarding incidents that have happened to children on the way home from school.

I would strongly advise all parents/carers to contact the police if your child had been approached by a member of the public and made to feel uncomfortable.

The police have not made us aware of any particular risks, as they would do if they had concerns, but it is always important to remain vigilant.

Fundraising from the London Marathon

You may recall that one of our DT Teachers, Miss Smollett, ran the London Marathon last month to raise funds to support our Duke of Edinburgh programme.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored her, I am delighted to announce that Miss Smollett raised over £1,400 which will go towards supporting this highly beneficial extra-curricular scheme. Final thanks must, of course, go to Miss Smollett for taking on such a huge challenge.

And Finally….

Please remember that if you do have anything positive to share, we are really keen to promote this on our Facebook page.

Any such photos and or information can be sent to us at admin@sweynepark.com.

Thank you in advance.

Have a nice weekend.

Manchester City Tour: Mr Jones Reporting…

35 students attended the Manchester City Etihad Campus this weekend on football tour to reward the boys for their continued commitment to football at the school.

The weekend consisted of professional coaching sessions, fixtures, stadium tours and evening activities. The City Football Schools facilities are some of the highest ranked in the world.

The boys enjoyed the usage of the state of the art facilities as well as the input of 6 Manchester City professional academy coaches.

We even got a sneak peak of Pep and the first team training prior to their game against Fulham as well as an impromptu run in with David Moyes en-route home!

It really was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the boys who thoroughly enjoyed their experience. Thank you to Mr Andrew and Mr Fernandez for accompanying me on the trip.
